Gingerbread House-MakingPosted January 22, 2008, 8:30 am
Everybody separated into their mentorship families with the intention of making gingerbread houses. Graham crackers and frosting were used for building and marshmallows, sprinkles, and candy were used for decorating. At the beginning of the meeting, everyone was free to mingle while having Diddy Riese cookies and milk. We started out by playing an ice-breaker called, “I have never…” where the main purpose was to get to know people’s names, hometown, and a random fact in the form of a “I have never…” statement. Afterwards, pairs and families were revealed; and time was given for basic introductions. Next, families sat together and competed against the others in a group activity. They were all given a piece of paper with the letters A to Z shown in a familiar font and color, each corresponding to a brand name. The family that correctly identified the most brand names won free AMC tickets.
