Concrete Frisbee Team 2008
Frisbee Wins Second Place

Posted April 23, 2008, 3:17 pm

2008 has been a great year for Concrete Frisbee. Thanks to everyone's hard work in the planning, construction, development, and competition portions of the project, the Concrete Frisbee team earned a 2nd place title at the PSWRC. At the conference, Doug Lauder and Benji Baker threw the Frisbee an impressive distance of 153 feet with an accuracy of 84%.
Now that the conference is over, director Paolo Baltar is looking for next year's team to push forward even more. A detailed project report of this year is to be published soon, documenting the project's successes and things to improve upon. Paolo says, "My hope is that it will help next year's team create a First place Frisbee."

Casting is Underway

Concrete Frisbee is taking an innovative direction this year. A very intricate mold made of Polyurethane has enabled us to create smooth curves and detailed inlays.
After a few promising tests and a number of prototypes, we're on our way to making the final product to compete at Conference. A new mold has been cast, and we will be making new Concrete Frisbees in the near future.
As the product reaches its final stages, testing and throwing practice can begin in preparation for competition. There's plenty of work to be done. Please don't hesitate to ask questions or get involved.
